A Vision for More Beautiful Relationships

The FANOS Pillow was born from a simple but radical belief: when couples connect with honesty and tenderness, the world itself becomes more beautiful.

We are Dan Berger and Luke Larkin: dear friends, founders, and believers in connection. 

• Dan Berger is the founder of Social Tables, a hospitality software company acquired for $100M, and the author of the Forbes Books title The Quest for Belonging. His life’s work has centered on creating spaces where people feel seen and connected. Today, Dan is launching Assemble, a retreat center in Boise that is becoming the premier destination for offsite meetings and retreats in the Pacific Northwest.

• Luke Larkin is a med-school-dropout turned tech founder. With over 12,000 clinical hours in behavioral health, he created Untethered Voyage, a coaching center helping men reconnect with their Hero’s Journey. He also developed HealShield, a Chrome add-on that helps people reclaim focus from compulsive online patterns. Luke’s work blends recovery science, sacred ritual, and modern coaching to guide men back into lives of courage, clarity, and intimacy.

Together, we set out to create something that helps people behave more beautifully with each other.

Why We Created FANOS

FANOS comes from the Greek word meaning “to enlighten” - to shine light into what is hidden. It is also the name of a five-part check-in practice used by couples and therapists worldwide to strengthen emotional intimacy. With roots in recovery and relationship science, FANOS guides partners through Feelings, Appreciations, Needs, Ownership, and Strengths in just a few minutes each day.

The FANOS Pillow is a ritual object. Holding it signals: this is your turn to be seen, heard, and honored. It transforms an ordinary couch or bedroom into sacred space.
